I paint from photos that are some of the most personal things you'll ever send anyone. Here's exactly how I look after them.
Only me. Your photo is never shared with anyone, never posted, and never shown in any video or behind-the-scenes content. I don't use assistants, printers or outside services that would see it.
After you pay your deposit, I email you a private upload link. It opens a folder that only you and I can access.
Please don't send photos by Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, text or WhatsApp. If one arrives that way, I'll delete it and send you the upload link instead.
These are body portraits. Please crop your face out before you upload. If a face is visible, I paint from the neck down and never include it.
I keep your photo only while I'm painting. It's deleted 30 days after your painting is delivered, or sooner if you ask. I'll email you to confirm when it's gone.
I keep a short order record (your name, email, size, palette and dates) for tax purposes, but never the photo.
In a password-protected business account with two-step verification. Your photo is never saved to my phone's camera roll or to any personal cloud backup.
You choose one when you order:
You can change from Shareable to Private any time before I post. If you change your mind after it's posted, tell me and I'll take it down within 48 hours.
I paint adults only (18+), and only the person who orders. I can't accept a photo of someone else, even as a gift. For gifts, use a voucher so the person being painted sends their own photo.
A 50% deposit books your spot. It's non-refundable once you've uploaded your photo and painting has started. You see the finished piece before paying the balance, which includes postage.
Payments are processed securely by Square. I never see or store your card details.
You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email bodyofworkart@gmail.com and I'll reply within 5 business days.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
I keep the copyright in the painting, as artists do. You own the physical painting. I will never sell prints or copies of your painting.
